Internship review: my personal growth gained through this experience
Internship review at Sant’Anna Institute
Interning at SyArt has imparted me with cross-cultural skills and qualities, providing me with greater knowledge and understanding of international business explicitly relating to marketing, sales, and international relations. I established newfound confidence in myself and my abilities strengthening my career development. Initially, I was timid in my workplace at SyArt Gallery and the SyArt Festival exhibition at Villa Fiorentino.
I was handling valuable works of art during the setup and take down processes preparing for exhibitions. I had to show responsibility, self-motivation, and strong self-awareness while working at the gallery and the SyArt Sorrento Festival. Taking initiative during the assembly and removal of multiple exhibitions established trust and reliability between my supervisors and I.
I have become well-acquainted with my supervisors Rosella and Leone which motivate me to seek opportunities for continuous learning and opportunities to improve my work ethic.
I was given the independence to make my own social media campaigns, social media posts, and promotional videos. I collaboratively worked on projects with Rosella productively completing my work assignments within a time-frame of a day working in a team structure. I started to plan and organize written work reports receiving constructive feedback from Rosella learning on how to improve my performance.
My supervisor Rossella supported me, permitting the distinguishing opportunity for me to construct and pitch a management plan of my own. I pitched a project management plan from researching competitor data to and potential collaborators in the U.S. to establish a new market for SyArt Gallery.
I discovered Invaluable—a leading online marketplace for art which is working with more than 4,000 of the world’s premier auction houses, dealers and galleries, and helps buyers from 200 countries purchase items such as fine art, decorative art, Asian art, collectibles, jewelry, and furniture from around the world.
I created a project management plan presenting how Invaluable Auctions first-rate online bidding technology will allow SyArt Gallery to market and sell works of art from their gallery in Sorrento on an international scale, increasing SyArt’s global public relations, sales, social media publicity, and marketing to enhance the SyArt’s customer base. I formed a good business relationship with supervisors gaining practical skills, workplace experience and greater knowledge of the business industry.
